Project Overview

Loyastic is a Dutch start-up on a mission to redefine customer loyalty through innovative, cutting-edge solutions. To enhance customer engagement and encourage repeat purchases, the company set out to develop a robust Customer Loyalty Program (CLP) platform. With help from LARION, Loyastic successfully launched a fully functional solution in just three months. The platform seamlessly integrated both online and offline interactions, enabling the company to efficiently reward customers and strengthen long-term relationships. It was developed using Ruby on Rails, HTML/CSS, HAML, jQuery, PostgreSQL, and Amazon SES, and was executed by a focused team of five skilled tech professionals.

Challenge: Fragmented Customer Data and Loyalty Tracking

Wanting to encourage repeat purchases and reduce customer churn, Loyastic, like many other brands, applied loyalty programs. However, traditional loyalty programs, such as membership cards, had significant drawbacks. They lacked integration with other channels and systems, making it difficult to track customer interactions across both online and offline touchpoints

In response, the company decided to develop an interactive customer loyalty program platform capable of consolidating data from multiple channels for more efficient tracking. The platform needed to integrate data from multiple channels, including online stores, physical locations, and mobile apps, while incorporating features like points, gamification, and personalized promotions. Additionally, it required real-time data analytics to optimize marketing strategies and function seamlessly across all touchpoints.

Solution: A Smart Customer Loyalty Program

LARION assembled a cross-functional team consisting of 1 Scrum Master, 3 developers, and 1 QC engineer to manage the full-cycle development—from system architecture and coding to testing and deployment. Adopting the Agile methodology under a Time & Materials (T&M) engagement model, the team delivered rapid iterations, continuous feedback, and on-time delivery within a tight three-month schedule

The solution was built using a modern and scalable tech stack, including Ruby on Rai, HTML/CSS, haml, jQuery, PostgreSQL and SES

The platform included several key capabilities designed to deliver a seamless, rewarding experience for users:

  • Point-based system: Customers earned points for purchases and interactions, which could be redeemed for rewards, discounts, or exclusive offers

  • Gamification elements: Features like challenges, badges, and leaderboards encouraged frequent engagement with the loyalty program

  • Multi-channel integration: Customers could earn and redeem rewards across online stores, physical locations, and mobile apps, providing a unified loyalty experience

  • Data analytics & insights: The system collected and analyzed customer behavior and purchasing trends to inform personalized marketing campaigns and reward strategies

Result: Enhancing Customer Engagement and Loyalty

The collaboration between Loyastic and LARION resulted in a highly successful customer loyalty platform that exceeded expectations. The solution helped Loyastic build stronger relationships with customers by offering personalized incentives based on purchasing patterns and behaviors. The platform’s ability to track customer loyalty across various channels significantly boosted engagement and retention. Additionally, Loyastic was able to gather valuable insights into customer behavior, which informed more targeted marketing strategies. As a result, the platform helped position Loyastic as a leader in the customer loyalty space.
