The AI Senior Engineer / AI Engineering Lead is responsible for building LARION’s core AI Engineering capabilities through the design, implementation, and productization of AI MVPs that are reusable across delivery projects, pre-sales demos, and future client solutions.
This role focuses on engineering real, deployable AI systems, not academic research or prompt-only experimentation.
I. What You’ll Do
1. AI Engineering & MVP Development
- Design and implement end-to-end AI MVPs aligned with LARION’s outsourcing and pre-sales needs
- Build AI systems covering:
- Data ingestion & preprocessing
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines
- Agentic AI workflows (tool calling, planners, memory)
- Multi-step / multi-chain prompting (MCP)
- Multi-modal AI (text, document, image inputs)
- Package MVPs into reusable blueprints, reference architectures, and demo-ready solutions
2. Architecture & System Design
- Design API-first AI services (FastAPI or equivalent)
- Define clear component boundaries between models, orchestration, data, and UI
- Make pragmatic decisions on on-prem vs cloud vs hybrid deployment
- Ensure AI solutions are secure, auditable, and enterprise-ready
3. Agentic AI & Orchestration
- Implement agent-based patterns:
- Tool integration (search, DB, APIs, internal systems)
- Task planning and decomposition
- Multi-agent coordination (where justified)
- Apply MCP techniques for complex reasoning workflows
4. Pre-sales & Internal Enablement
- Support technical pre-sales:
- Validate AI feasibility
- Prepare demos and technical explanations
- Explain AI architectures to non-technical stakeholders
- Contribute to internal AI engineering standards, patterns, and best practices
5. Capability Building
- Help define LARION’s AI Engineering playbook
- Mentor junior engineers (when applicable)
- Continuously evaluate new AI tools, frameworks, and OSS models for practical adoption
II. What You’ll Bring
- Strong experience integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and OSS models)
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade / complex RAG architectures and vector databases
- Solid understanding of Agentic AI patterns
- Experience implementing multi-step reasoning / MCP workflows
- Python backend development (FastAPI or similar)
- REST APIs and basic UI integration
- Experience with on-prem or hybrid AI deployments or public cloud AI services
- Hands-on with AI security, data isolation, and access control
- Familiarity with AI observability and cost tracking tools
- Exposure to multi-modal AI systems (text, image, etc.)
- Experience with engineering standards or mentoring engineers
