A Case Study: Using IBM Rational Unified Process as the Methodology Framework

This article is divided into five parts. First, a brief introduction, then we discuss our development effort, followed by our deployment effort, lessons learned, and our conclusions.

This case study is a real story with real-world experiences about how our team successfully developed and deployed an iterative methodology using RUP® as a framework. This was done as a joint effort between Ford and Ford FinancialFord Credit. Ford Financial Credit is a fully owned subsidiary of Ford and the largest provider of automotive financing. We provide vehicle financing for over 11,000 dealers in 40 countries, and we have financed more than 50 million vehicles since 1959. We are also known as Ford Financial. in the media frequently as Ford Credit. We have a large IT staff of over 700 people.
